Grief Through the Elements is an eight-week course that takes the teachings from our signature Medicine of Grief journey and distills them into a more personal and reflective experience. 

This programme is a quiet invitation into grief tending, without group sharing or interaction. Through meditations, teachings and practices you will learn how to create a new relationship with grief, loss and love.

To be human is to know loss

Originating from the tender, grief tending invites us to bring compassion to our grief, as we would to a small child or a wild garden. When we create spaces for our grief to be witnessed and welcomed, not only do we allow our grief to flow and move, but we also expand our capacity to feel love, connection and presence.

Together, we will explore how shared grief deepens us and eases the sorrows in our hearts. This guided process will support your experience through the paradoxes of grief and gratitude, love and loss and death and rebirth. Inspired by the natural forces of Earth, Water, Fire and Air, the circle will encourage you to deepen your connection to nature, yourself and each other.

Although we would all rather not find ourselves drawn here, I have found over and over again that grief tending are a place to find intimacy, connection and authenticity. Grief can also be a great initiation as through its experience we are ripened as human beings, emerging with a greater capacity for compassion and connection. We show up for this work not solely for our individual healing, but also to enable us to respond to the critical needs of our times.

  • Anyone, everyone.

    Anyone who is experiencing grief recent or ancient - whether it’s the people we’ve lost, a relationship that ended, miscarriage, regrets we hold, unmet hopes and expectations, ecological grief or the longing for deeper meaning and connection in our lives. All are welcome.

    For anyone who is interested in compassionately tending to their grief and integrating it into all of who they are. People who are willing to let grief change them and to understand grief as the potential initiation into more authenticity and a deeper connection with life. Moving forward with an open heart, rather than moving on.

  • Within a grief circle, you will be held and supported throughout. You can expect an exploration of grief tending, guided meditation and soothing poetry or music to support us integrate our grief. This particular journey won’t include group sharing or interaction, it is a chance for you to be guided and held as you tend to your own heart. Come as you are and receive.
